Pine Ridge tribe tentatively accepts federal money

WOUNDED KNEE, S.D.  The Pine Ridge Reservation is one step closer to ending alcohol problems from nearby Whiteclay.

The Ogala Sioux Tribal Council tentatively accepted an agreement to use $100,000 of federal funds to hire more officers to police 2 miles off the reservation, including nearby Whiteclay. (more…)

Hopelessness of Whiteclay can be ended

Too many people see the drunks on the streets of Whiteclay and rampant alcoholism on the Pine Ridge Reservation and fall into hopelessness. Sadly, this includes some Lakota. It’s important to remember that things don’t have to be this way. (more…)
